What QmyMusic is
QmyMusic is a party app built on the Spotify platform. A host plays music on their own Spotify device, and guests add songs to a shared queue. To do that, everyone connects their Spotify account. QmyMusic is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify.
What we access from your Spotify account
When you sign in, you authorize QmyMusic to access, via the Spotify Web API and only with your permission:
- Your profile: display name, email address, and profile picture.
- Your playlists, Liked Songs, and top tracks — so you can browse and pick songs (and, for hosts, so the party can fall back to your favorites when every queue is empty).
- For hosts: your available devices and playback state, and control of playback on the device you choose for the party.
Your playlists, Liked Songs, search results, and top tracks are fetched live from Spotify when you browse them and shown back to you. We do not keep copies of them.
What we store
- Your account: name, email, profile picture, and the Spotify access tokens needed to act on your behalf. Tokens are never shared with anyone.
- While a party is running: the tracks you queue (title, artist, artwork link, duration) and the record of your participation.
When a party ends, all queued-track data and now-playing information from that party is deleted automatically.
What other people see
Inside a party, your Spotify display name and profile picture are visible to every other participant, and the tracks you add are attributed to you. That's the point of the app — but it means you shouldn't join a party with people you don't want seeing your name and picture.
What we never do
- Sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- Use your data or Spotify content to train AI models.
- Show ads or monetize your listening in any way.
- Share your data with anyone except the infrastructure that hosts the app itself.
Deleting your data
On the home page, while signed in, use “Disconnect Spotify & delete my data”. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, your Spotify tokens, your participation history, every track you ever queued, and any party you hosted. You can also revoke QmyMusic's access at any time from your Spotify account's app settings.
